Instrument Service

Instrument Service

Our instruments are built to last. However, to extend the lifetime of our systems, regular servicing is recommended. Instrument services are performed in-house by BPC Instrument’s expert team, and include switching out consumable or broken parts, upgrading to latest software versions and calibrating the system for use.

Prolong your instrument’s lifespan

All equipment requires service now and again and BPC’s instruments are no exception. We offer several service packages that will extend the lifetime and accuracy of your equipment. As an added bonus, we will also upgrade it to our latest software and hardware.

We recommend that you service the main units of your older configuration instruments AMPTS® II (Standard & Light), Gas Endeavour®  and BPC® BioReactor Simulator at least every three years. Contact us and we’ll be able to tell you when you’ve last had a unit serviced, if we recommend servicing or when your next service should be. It is helpful if you have the detection unit’s serial number at hand.

Common questions about
instrument service

We recommend servicing older configuration systems, such as AMPTS II, once every three years.

We recommend purchasing maintenance and/or spare parts packages for newer generation instruments, such as AMPTS III, in order to replace consumable parts yourself. If a serious issue is identified with the system and you are unsure how to proceed, please contact support.

During the lifetime of the equipment, it will be exposed to conditions and usage that wears down some of the parts. These parts should be replaced before they start leaking or clogging so that you can focus on what is important – running an experiment from start to finish.

We also want our products to be the best they can be, and we want you to have the best. This is why we also always upgrade every system sent to us to the latest supported version of that instrument. If we’ve released a new hardware revision or software version, we will upgrade you at no additional cost and you will get shipped back your equipment better than it was the day you first bought it.

The service generally focuses on the instrument detection unit. Consumable parts of an instrument are always exchanged, such as flow cells, internal tubing and check valves.

Some parts of an instrument are upgraded if better versions are available. Software, sensor boards and the embedded server are the main things we look at. The electronics may also be exchanged if problems have been reported by the end user.

Some parts of an instrument are inspected and exchanged if anything out of the ordinary is detected, such as a crack which has started to form. We exchange it before it becomes an issue.

While we don’t service the consumable parts, such as stirrers, external tubing or lids, we offer maintenance kits that are easy to order and will be sufficient for most cases.

If there are other things that need to be taken care of, you can always visit our catalogue to find all the spare parts we offer or contact us directly.

Maintenance Package 5100-0001-00

Maintenance Packages

Maintenance packages are designed to replace wear and tear components (consumables) regularly for a healthy system. For newer systems (AMPTS® III, Gas Endeavour® III, BPC® Blue, BioReactor III) we recommend purchasing a maintenance or spare parts package instead of conducting a service.

The packages include replacement consumable components. We have many configuration packages available. These include our general Package contents may vary with changes to systems and updates.

Full spare parts packages are designed to provide you everything you need and more to perform maintenance on your instrument.

Motor packages are also available to replace your full agitation systems with only one purchase.
