BioReactor Simulator III
BioReactor Simulator III helps laboratories study biogas production under controlled continuous conditions. Use it to evaluate feedstock mixtures, loading regimes, retention time, additives and long term process behaviour before changes are made at larger scale.
- Continuous anaerobic digestion
- 9 parallel channels
- Aurora™ software included

A safer way to test continuous biogas processes
BioReactor Simulator III is designed to replicate continuously fed anaerobic fermentation processes at laboratory scale. It helps researchers, biogas laboratories and industrial users study how process conditions affect gas production, stability and biological performance over time.
The system combines 9 glass reactors, controlled feeding and discharging, mechanical agitation, gas measurement and browser based experiment software in one workflow. This makes it possible to test process changes in the lab before applying them to a full scale biogas plant.

Features

Why choose BioReactor Simulator III?
Built for continuous process studies
BRS III is made for continuously fed anaerobic fermentation workflows, where process behaviour needs to be followed over time.
Test before full scale changes
Evaluate feedstock mixtures, loading strategies, additives, pretreatments or process adjustments before applying them to a larger plant.
Less manual work
After experiment preparation and setup, gas measurement and data recording are automated throughout the test period.
Compare several conditions
With 9 parallel channels, laboratories can test different process settings in one coordinated setup.
Flexible bioreactor use
BRS III can be used with CSTR reactors and adapted to other reactor configurations depending on the study design.

Common questions about BioReactor Simulator III
What is BioReactor Simulator III used for?
BioReactor Simulator III is used to simulate continuously fed anaerobic fermentation processes at laboratory scale. It helps users study feedstock mixtures, loading regimes, retention time, additives, pretreatments and process stability.
How many reactors does BRS III have?
The standard BRS III configuration has 9 parallel reactor channels.
What type of reactors are used with BRS III?
The standard configuration uses 2 litre CSTR glass reactors designed for continuously fed anaerobic fermentation studies.
What is the difference between BRS III and AMPTS® III?
BRS III is used for continuous anaerobic fermentation studies. AMPTS® III is used for anaerobic batch testing, such as BMP, SMA, residual gas potential and inhibition studies.
Can BRS III be used before making changes to a full scale biogas plant?
Yes. BRS III allows laboratories and operators to test process conditions at smaller scale before making changes in a full scale plant.
Does BRS III include software?
Yes. BRS III includes Aurora™ software, which is accessed through a web browser for experiment setup, monitoring, storage and export.
Can additional process parameters be monitored?
Yes. The reactor design includes a port that can be used for sampling or online monitoring of process parameters such as pH, ORP or temperature, depending on the setup.
