What we do
BPC Instruments develops automated laboratory systems for measuring gas from biological processes. Our instruments help users follow methane production, oxygen consumption, fermentation gases and process behaviour in controlled laboratory tests.
By automating gas measurement and data handling, we help laboratories reduce manual work, compare samples more reliably and follow biological processes over time. The result is clearer data for research, product development, quality control and process decisions.
- Automated gas measurement

From feedstock potential to biogas performance
Biogas plants and laboratories need to understand how feedstocks behave before decisions are made at larger scale. A substrate may have high methane potential, but it can also affect process stability, loading strategy, retention time or microbial activity.
BPC helps move this evaluation into controlled laboratory testing. Our instruments measure methane potential, gas production and process behaviour in batch and continuous anaerobic digestion studies, helping users compare feedstocks, study biological activity and reduce uncertainty before process changes are made.
AMPTS® III
AMPTS® III is used for automated anaerobic batch testing, including BMP, SMA, residual gas potential and inhibition studies. The AMPTS® series is recommended in VDI 4630 as an automated test apparatus for BMP, SMA and RGP testing, making it a well established platform for methane potential analysis.
BRS III
BioReactor Simulator III is designed to replicate continuously fed anaerobic fermentation processes at laboratory scale. With 9 parallel channels, it helps users compare operating conditions, feedstock mixtures, loading strategies and long term process behaviour before changes are made at larger scale.
BPC® Go
BPC® Go is our smallest and most flexible gas volume and flow meter. It is useful for custom batch or continuous experiments where users need compact gas measurement with browser based monitoring.
Test material degradation under controlled conditions
Material developers, testing laboratories and brand owners need reliable data before making claims about biodegradability or compostability. Plastics, polymers, packaging materials and organic substances can behave very differently depending on the test environment.
BPC® Blue helps laboratories determine biodegradability under controlled aerobic and anaerobic conditions, including compost related workflows. In aerobic tests, biodegradation is followed through oxygen demand in a closed respirometer setup. In anaerobic tests, gas production is monitored under oxygen free condition.
BPC® Blue
BPC® Blue is designed for aerobic and anaerobic biodegradability analysis of plastics, polymers, packaging materials and organic substances. It supports workflows based on recognised biodegradability methods and helps users follow biodegradation progress over time with automated respirometric measurement.

Follow fermentation in feed, food and gut models
Feed, food and fibre samples behave differently during digestion and fermentation. For laboratories working with animal and human nutrition, gas production can show how a sample ferments over time, how substrates compare and how additives or treatments affect the process.
Gas Endeavour® III helps users study this behaviour in controlled in vitro models. The system monitors fermentation gases in parallel reactors and provides kinetic data for ruminant fermentation, monogastric hindgut models and human gut fermentation research.
Gas Endeavour® III
Gas Endeavour® III is used for automated in vitro gas production analysis in animal and human nutrition research. It helps laboratories monitor fermentation gas production, compare samples and follow digestion kinetics with less manual reading during the experiment.
The biology behind wastewater treatment performance
Wastewater treatment depends on active microbial processes. Laboratories need to understand how sludge, biomass and wastewater samples respond to different conditions, including inhibition, organic load, oxygen uptake and gas production.
BPC instruments support controlled wastewater testing through automated gas measurement and respirometry. Our instruments help users study sludge activity, biodegradability, microbial response and process performance in both aerobic and anaerobic workflows.
Gas Endeavour® III
Gas Endeavour® III is used for automated in vitro gas production analysis in animal and human nutrition research. It helps laboratories monitor fermentation gas production, compare samples and follow digestion kinetics with less manual reading during the experiment.
AMPTS® III
AMPTS® III is relevant for wastewater workflows involving anaerobic batch testing, such as BMP, SMA, residual gas potential and inhibition studies. It helps laboratories measure methane production and biological activity under controlled anaerobic conditions.

Training and support beyond the instrument
BPC supports customers beyond the instrument itself. Through training, consultation, technical support and digital resources in BPC Academy, we help users work more confidently with their systems and get better value from their data.
Training can be held online or on site and adapted to the laboratory’s workflow. Sessions may cover instrument setup, method guidance, maintenance, data handling and daily use.
